This is one of the oldest tea trees (2400 years old) for cultivation from the Chunqiu-Warring State era (770BC-221BC). It was grown by an ethnic minority group living in Yunnan.
This white tea was harvested in April in 2016. It was not withered, exposed to the sun after roasted in a pot. It was dried in cool surroundings after it was withered indoors.
Feature: A rather mild, sweet, silky-smooth, highly pleasant, extremely fruity tea with a unique aroma that can be enjoyed at length, with a characteristic, sweet after-taste and a golden color. The tea has a stimulating, refreshing, uplifting effect. Ideally prepared with 80 Celsius water in 60-75 second infusions, gradually increasing the time - or the water temperature - of re-steeping (up to 4 minutes). The bitterness of the tea does not come out even after it is infused several times, which is one of the special characteristics of this tea.

How to prepare

1. Warm a glass teapot or gaiwan by pouring boiling water.
2. Put tea leaves of 3~4 g into the pot per water of 150 ml and pour boiling water to the pot at about 95~100℃.
3. Warm a pitcher or a cup by pouring the remaining boiling water.
4. Steam it in about 60 seconds.
If the scum comes up on tea, take it off with the edge of the tea cover. No need to throw away the
tea to wash tea leaves. Steam it in shorter time (about 50 seconds) in second infusion because
tea leaves are already open after making cups of tea for the first time. After several infusions, taste of
tea is getting weak, so take ten seconds longer to steam for each cup in order to make some cups
of tea evenly.
5. Pour the tea into pitcher from a teapot first to make tea even, then pour it to the cups.
Make sure to open the lid of a teapot to prevent it from steaming too much.

Taste of tea is a matter of preference, so try infusing tea in several ways and find your
favorite way to infuse.

I don't know about the source being a 2400yo tree, but unlike other white teas I've had there is no astringency to this tea at all. Very pleasant taste.

What are Sazen Reward Points?
In the Sazen Tea webshop registered and logged in users can collect points for each items bought. 1 point means 1 Yen, that can be used at the subsequent purchase.
The points to be received for a product can be found on the product page, and it grows when choosing bigger quantities.

When can I get points?
The registration and activation of the received points happens after the purchase.
By choosing the online payment method, it occurs after the successful transaction immediately, while when choosing the bank transfer or payment on delivery options, the activation occurs after the money has arrived to our bank account.

How can I use the points?
Points can be used at a later purchase to reduce the sum to be paid.
Registered and logged in users can redeem their points on the ‘Billing and shipping information’ page while confirming their purchase. Points can be redeemed for the net sum (Subtotal) of the basket, but they cannot be used for shipping costs or other additional costs.
There are no new points collected for the value of redeemed points.
Points cannot be exchanged to cash.

How long are points valid?
The received points are valid for one year. After each purchase or receiving points the expiry date is extended and is counted from the date of the last purchase.
Expired points cannot be revalidated, our system deletes them automatically.

How can I check my points?
After logging in, you can find yourcurrent point balance and the history of your points in the MySazen menu.

How can I get double points?
