This sencha tastes like Gyokuro with nice umami taste on mouth. I brewed in banko Kyusu. No bitterness at all. Good quality too. Will buy this again...

This has quickly become one of my absolute favorite everyday senchas, The aroma and taste have this wonderful sweet corn-grain note that feels comforting and refined, smooth, with a natural sweetness. It’s easy to brew, and gives good results even if you’re a little off with temperature or time. Perfectly approachable, yet special enough to serve guests or coworkers and always get compliments. The Asatsuyu cultivar is a bonus. Bred in 1921 and officially registered in 1953 as “Tea Agriculture and Forestry No.2,” it was named “Asatsuyu” (morning dew) because of its fresh, dewy flavor and clear green color. Cost performance and flavor, good quality, no astringency can recommend.

The dry leaves do have the unmistakable roasted sweet potato aroma, and transfers very well to the brewed tea. The liquor is a nice cloudy greenish-yellow upon the first brew, and has a good umami taste with the slightest bitterness. A very good tea!

Very fragrant potato aroma. Good tasting tea. It's great for everyday drinking. Low amount of bitterness. It still has a mild unpleasant after taste but I have never tried anything better in this price class.

Really like this tea. Very strong umami punch with the first infusion that persists also in the second one too. Strong vegetable flavour, thick and savory. Great for daily drinking.

Wow. I thought this tea would have "notes" of sweet potato. No way. There's no mistaking the flavor nor aroma. I bought a 500g bag thinking it would be a suitable daily green tea, but that doesn't give this tea credit. I bought a handful of other senchas at much higher price points and find myself reaching for this one more often than the others. It is a sweet sencha that will bring a smile to your face. Maybe you should surprise yourself with this as well?

I'm really enjoying this tea. It has a very distinct aroma of roasted root veg that is very unique and makes this sencha one of my favourites for everyday drinking.

Very fresh and flavorful, will probably purchase again. I best liked this sencha brewed at 80 C for about 1:15 and could get 3-4 good steeps out of it.

This is really some exquisite Asatsuyu - it brews such delicious tea. Aromas of roasted potatoes for sure, velvety texture, a nice umami (but not overwhelming) aftertaste, and no bitterness at all. Brew it properly and you will be rewarded. My preference 1st brew = 1 min at 150 degrees Fahrenheit, 2nd and 3rd brew = 30 seconds at 150 degrees Fahrenheit

A delicious tea with a very nice subtle roasted flavor which compliments the sweet potato aroma. Was not bitter at all. Would recommend to first time buyers looking to get their feet wet. Personally I like to sweeten my tea with a little bit of local honey, a full teaspoon at most for 8 ounces. If you do choose to sweeten I would not recommend using sugar as it can overpower the subtle flavor notes. That being said this is a great tea to enjoy as is without sweetener.

i've brewed it for 5 times....and yet the taste is still good....i put the tea inside the fridge before brew it for the consequences fourth and fifth time
