東方美人は農薬や化学肥料は一切使用せずに瑞栽培しています。
浮塵子(ウンカ) Jacobiasca formosanaという小さな虫が新芽の樹液を吸うことにより、成長が阻害された新芽だけで作られるお茶です。
摘めるのは6月初めの2-3日間のみ、一人1日当たり製品にして200g分しか摘めません。
摘み取ったこの茶葉を16時間にも及ぶ工程をかけて作り上げます。
熟した果物のような香り(熟果香)と龍眼(Longan)の花の蜂蜜のような香りとが混じり合い鼻腔を甘くくすぐります。
水色(茶の浸出液の色)は淡いオレンジ色で透明感があります。
口に含めば心まで癒されるようなまろやかさとやさしさに感動されることと思います。

作り方


3 g 0.1 oz 0.7 US tsp	95度 203°F	100cc 3.4 fl oz 100 ml	30秒~

1) ティーポットとカップを暖めます。
2) 150㏄に対して3-5gの茶葉をポットに入れ、90℃くらいのお湯を注ぎ1-2分蒸らします。
3) それぞれのカップの濃さが均一になるように注ぎます。
4) お茶の香りを楽しんだ後、お口の中で転がすようにご賞味ください。
5) ポットにお湯が残らないようご注意ください。
6) 5-6煎目までおいしくお召し上がりいただけます。

Oriental Beauty from Sazen Tea. God, no words can describe how fragrant this tea is. The smell and taste notes are like cherry/plum. The hui gan, too, lingers in my mouth even after our session, though it has had an astringency in 4th to 5th infusions. I really love it.

This is really oriental beauty. No comparison with other products I've tasted. A top quality tea. I can't give it more than 5 stars, but it should. I will buy again.

Initial opening of the tea package, a wonderful aroma, something like peach, hits the nose but it quickly faded after opening. A very nice subtle peach aroma and taste in the first brew which was very enjoyable and refreshing but the 2nd brew became too earthy. Next time I won't brew the tea more than twice. Note that I first rinse the tea for 1 second to open up leaves and Steeped for 1 min for first brew and the second brew for 30 second. I wished that the description on Oolong and black teas had included how much teas are oxidized and roasted, which would help which teas to purchase.
