I make usacha with this matcha powder. It has a rich umami flavour with just the slightest hint of dryness in the aftertaste (not really a bitter aftertaste). In more concentrated form, the matcha has a nut-like taste woven in. Very interesting taste, it whips up nice and foamy and has great colour!

The scent and taste remind me strongly of roast soy bean powder(Kinako 黄粉). I used this matcha to make Usacha, the nutty flavour becomes part of a full-bodied umami flavour and moves to the background, there is just the slightest hint of astringency, but this is almost unnoticeable. The taste makes me nostalgic for my my time in Japan. I imagine that the nutty flavour would be more pronounced in Koicha. I've ordered it multiple times, this matcha is excellent
