This matcha had some depth in flavor and a lingering taste. This definitely has umami as well as a touch of bitterness. It reminds me me of a very dark chocolate with walnuts.

Upon opening the tin, a wonderful aroma of creamy custard greets me. A very brief astringent note is met upon sipping, that gives way to a pleasant umami that my palette reads as a savory tomato. There is also a hint of natural sweetness that is reminiscent of fresh sweet asparagus. Overall, a very good first impression from Kanbayashi Shunsho.

i make its as latte with oatmilk and cashew milk , its creamier, have mouthfull feel, no bitterness, theres green aftertaste, no bitterness, its solid matcha will repurchase

This matcha is top one in my list at the moment. It’s creamy as I personally like it in lattes. The flavor is incredible, very umami, slightly sweet but I think it’s the vanilla notes in it. I would purchase the 200g once I finished the tin I have now!

I can taste the umami whatever that is and it doesnt taste bitter at all. Loved it might be a bit too much matcha for a beginner. There isnt much nuttiness. Would order again👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Soumei is a solid matcha with creaminess and no bitter notes. I had this in a matcha latte (4g matcha, 35g water at 175 F, 1/2 cup oat milk, 13g agave) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In a latte, this matcha has notes of spinach, creamy custard, and lots of nuttiness. I didn’t need much sweetener since the powder is naturally very sweet. My fiancé who does not like matcha agrees this was nice as well. For the price, I would not recommend this for matcha lattes. I’d stick with Biwa no Shiro or Aya no Mori.
