Powdered GYOKURO green tea
Introducing the favorite: Gyokuro Powder! A perfect alternative to matcha, this powdered gyokuro brings the same rich, vibrant flavors with a unique twist.
Similar to matcha, gyokuro powder is made from shaded tea leaves—like tencha, the base for matcha—but the processing after harvest is what sets it apart. The leaves are carefully rolled and cut, preserving the depth and richness that make gyokuro so special. This process allows the tea to retain its high caffeine content, even surpassing matcha, while maintaining a nutrient profile that’s just as impressive.
One of the key differences between gyokuro powder and matcha is the preservation of L-theanine during processing. Unlike matcha, where L-theanine can transform into catechins, this powder retains more of the amino acid responsible for its signature umami, giving you a smooth, focused energy boost without the typical caffeine crash or jitteriness.
Expect a bold, yet smooth experience with a spicy, refreshing bitterness that balances beautifully with its creamy, umami-rich body. The flavor profile is distinctly nutty with a lasting, satisfying aftertaste. The tea’s verdant freshness shines through, offering a full-bodied and energizing cup that’s perfect for creating a thick, velvety foam.
Gyokuro Powder is the ideal choice for those seeking a rich, flavorful latte with equally great health benefits and flavor as matcha.
Please note, that Sazen Tea does not keep this product in stock. We get all matcha and tea powder fresh from the factories only after an order is placed for it on our website, and this process can take a few days. Thank you for your patience!
