Eggshell Porcelain Cup and Saucer with Geisha Lithophane

This exquisite tea cup and saucer is crafted from Eggshell Porcelain, a material so delicate it measures barely 1mm thick. A masterpiece of Japanese craftsmanship, its most enchanting feature is the hidden Geisha lithophane at the bottom: when filled with tea or held up to the light, the graceful face of a lady softly emerges.
The intricate designs—Phoenix, Plum Blossoms, and the "Biwa-Bijin" (a beauty playing a Japanese lute)—are rendered through a meticulous copperplate transfer process using traditional washi paper. Among these, the Phoenix and Plum patterns are the most historic, having been continuously produced by Marunao Seitosho for over 130 years since the Meiji era.
