Hand-painted bamboo tea scoop by Issei Minowa
Handmade and hand-painted chashaku made of bamboo.
A warbling white-eyed or Japanese white-eye, "mejiro" is painted on the tea scoop, sitting on a blooming plum branch. These beloved olive-green birds are associated with spring as they are often spotted on plum trees drinking the fragrant nectar of plum flowers.

Cleaning:
After use, some matcha powder might stick to the scoop. To clean it, always use a dry cloth. Bamboo is extremely sensitive to moisture. If you clean it with a wet cloth, the water and the matcha powder seep into the material and damage it. Make sure you keep it dry!
Do not expose it to direct sunlight for too long!
