I was surprised by this offering from Shoyeido. Although the scent is similar to others in their lower-end products, one immediate difference I found in the "Avenue of the Villa" incense is that the scent is incredibly 'gentle' in that it's both full (one stick fills a room up well and lingers for a while) and easy on the nose. There's a subtlety to it that I just absolutely enjoy. I will definitely purchase it again since it's at a nice price-point for occasional/special use (matcha, solo meditation, prostrations, &c.).
