Matcha to be served cold from Marukyu Koyamaen
A special matcha blend from Marukyu-Koyamen.
Thanks to the freeze-drying processing, Awaraku does not need to be sifted before consumption. It is suitable for preparing both hot and cold matcha, which makes it a perfect choice for summer.

STEP 1) Put 2g (0.4 US tsp, 1 teaspoon or 2 chashaku scoop) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 60-70 ml (2-2.4 fl oz) cold or once boiled but cooled down water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy.
STEP 4) Add some ice.
❖ Freshness is essential to enjoy Matcha to the fullest. It is best to consume the tea within one month of opening.
❖ Using spring water or mineral water with low natrium and calcium content is best. (High natrium and calcium content takes the pep out of tea)

Very different feel to matcha. Powder particles are larger and remain present in tea, so they sediment. Flavor is unique but simple. Main issue was that the feeling you get from it is not like the smooth tea high from matcha, it causes a more jittery feel. Won't buy again

Very interesting texture but not my favourite flavour. This matcha was very grassy with a lot of brighter notes. It does not have the creamy or deeper chocolate notes that I like in a matcha. The texture is grittier than other matcha that I've had. I find that the flavour of this tea is also not very good when brewed only in cold water. There is only slight bitterness/astringency. I do like that I don't need to sift this matcha. If you use natsume, it's very convenient because you don't need to sift it to transfer it back into a storage container. However, this alone doesn't make up for the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the flavour.

I have to agree completely. The texture is interesting because it doesn't create lumps and it's easier to make your matcha, but from my last order I'd say that this is my least favorite one.
