Green tea blended with roasted brown rice from Kyoto, Japan
Genmaicha is a kind of mixed tea containing around 50% roasted brown rice besides sencha leaves. Tea bushes are exposed to direct sunlight therefore the taste is characteristic and refreshing with a very pleasant roasted aroma of brown rice. It is a well vitalizing, reduced caffeine content tea.

1. Put 5 g tea leaves into a Japanese teapot.
2. Cool boiled water down to 85℃ and pour it into the teapot.
3. Steep for 30 seconds and pour an equal amount of tea into each cup.
❖ This tea goes 3 steeps. For the second and third infusions, use hotter water and brew shorter.
❖ This is how we recommend brewing this tea, but we all have our preferences, so try experimenting to find the way you like it the most.
