Matcha bowl for summer coated with ash glaze. "Hira" chawan are flat and wide, commonly used in summer, because thanks to their shape, matcha cools easier in them. Mizuhiki-sō (水引草) is a delicate wildflower native to Japan, known for its thin, arching stems with tiny red or white blossoms. Named after mizuhiki, the decorative cords used in Japanese ceremonies, the plant symbolizes elegance, modesty, and the quiet beauty of autumn. It often appears in poetry and traditional gardens as a symbol of the changing seasons. The light blue brush strokes recall the faint color of summer and early autumn waters.
