Handmade, furo-season, bamboo tea ceremony ladle
"Meisaku" means masterpiece in Japanese and the masterful craftmanship shows in every small detail.
This "hishaku"—bamboo ladle—is designed for the furo season. The "furo" is the portable brazier used in the tearoom during the warmer months (May to October). Since the iron kettle’s mouth used in the furo season is smaller, the furo hishaku also features a smaller ladle head.
The "kiridome"—the cut end of the handle—is finished in a style known as "migoshi", in which the inner surface of the bamboo is cut at an angle.

INITIATION:
Before first use, rinse it with hot water and let it dry naturally.
CLEANING:
Use it only for water. Hishaku doesn't need much cleaning, as only used for water, but always make sure it dries completely before storing it away.
Do not use dishwasher, dryer or dish soap!
Never let it soak in water.
STORAGE
Store it in a place with good ventilation and humidity not lower than 50%. Bamboo is a sensitive material. If the ladle is stored away in a too warm and too dry place, it might crack.
