This is one of the oldest tea trees (2400 years old) from the Chunqiu-Warring State era (770BC-221BC). It was protected by an ethnic minority group living in Yunnan.
This white tea was harvested in March in 2023. It was not withered, exposed to the sun after roasted in a pot. It was dried in cool surroundings after it was withered indoors.
Feature: A rather mild, sweet, silky-smooth, highly pleasant, extremely fruity tea with a unique aroma that can be enjoyed at length, with a characteristic, sweet after-taste and a golden color. The tea has a stimulating, refreshing, uplifting effect. The bitterness of the tea does not come out even after it is infused several times, which is one of the special characteristics of this tea.
Place of Origin: near of Heping village, Jiu Jia Xiang, Zhenyuan Yi, Hani and Lahu Autonomous County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province

How to prepare
3 g 0.1 oz 0.7 US tsp
85°C 185°F
100 ml 3.4 fl oz 100 cc
30 sec.~
STEP 1) Warm your teapot. Pour boiling water into a gaiwan or teapot, let it sit for a little while, then discard all the water.
STEP 2) Brew (no need to rinse this tea). Pour hot water on the tea leaves (about 85°C) and brew for 30 seconds.
STEP 4) Serve. Pour the tea into a pitcher, and then into cups.
STEP 5) Brew again.
❖ For the second infusion, steep it for about half the time of the first infusion. For every other infusion after that increase the steeping time (from the time of the first infusion).
❖ Make sure to open the lid of the teapot between infusions, to prevent the leaves from cooking.
❖ This is how we recommend brewing this tea, but we all have our preferences, so try experimenting to find the way you like it the most.
Glad I purchased this one, I started with the 3g sample bag- enough for a good tea sitting and taking pictures, and getting to know the tea. I used the full 3g in one go, and now I am wanting to purchase the larger gram bag. Leaf is beautiful when dry and wet, nice and crispy shades of green, and mid brew leaf steeping in hot water is a pleasure to see too! As you brew rounds the color turns a beautiful honey color, and the flavor is sweet and something like fruity jam- Great tea!

I don't know about the source being a 2400yo tree, but unlike other white teas I've had there is no astringency to this tea at all. Very pleasant taste.
