Premium green tea from Mie Prefecture
To represent the best teas from the region, the Kansai Tea Competition is organized every September. All competitive grade teas from Kansai area are displayed, savored and evaluated here. This tea won the prestigious 3rd prize reaching 179 points out of 200.
TASTE NOTES
Competitive teas must excel in every aspect—from appearance to aroma to flavor—and this one does not disappoint. Its leaves are beautifully processed, and the aroma is exceptional: fresh, rich, and immediately speaking of a tea that stands above the ordinary.
The flavor is on the lighter side, which is typical of competitive-grade teas. It’s sweet and verdant, reminiscent of green peas and green apple, yet elevated by a remarkable umami that lends a vegetal, almost raw character.
The second infusion is stronger and punchier, but the underlying sweetness remains.
