Balanced Sweet and Toasty Oolong with Nutty Fragrance and Gentle Spice from Nantou County
This tea welcomes with a warm, nutty fragrance. The wet leaves smell of charcoal, a hint of its heavy roasting. The cup is a perfect balance of sweet and toasty, with the first few infusions showing gentle sweetness and a subtle spicy edge, like honey crackers. The roast is complimenting this sweet essence. In the later brews, the fruitiness takes the lead as the toasty notes recede, giving the tea an elegant finish.
Due to its darker notes and complexity, we recommend this tea to advanced tea enthusiasts.

How to prepare
3 g 0.1 oz 0.7 US tsp
95°C 203°F
80 ml 2.7 fl oz 80 cc
30 sec.~
STEP 1) Warm your teapot. Pour boiling water into a gaiwan or teapot, let it sit for a little while, then discard all the water.
STEP 2) Brew. Pour boiling water on your rinsed tea leaves and brew for 30 seconds. (When it comes to Taiwanese tea pearls, we usually recommend rinsing the tea leaves first but you can skip this step here.)
STEP 3) Serve. Pour the tea into a pitcher, and then into cups.
STEP 4) Brew again.
❖ After the first few infusions, you can increase the steeping time (to about 35-40 seconds).
❖ Make sure to open the lid of the teapot between infusions, to prevent the leaves from cooking.
❖ This is how we recommend brewing this tea, but we all have our preferences, so try experimenting to find the way you like it the most.
