Premium Black Tea from Fujian Mountains with citrus sweetness and fruity notes
Tongmu is the name of an area in Xingcun Village, Wuyishan City, Fujian Province, located about 50–60 kilometers from the Wuyishan Mountains where cliff tea is produced. This Xiao Chi Gan, a type of Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, is made in Tongmu Village using traditional manufacturing methods and has recently gained popularity. It is made from wild tea trees growing at an altitude of 1,600 meters, harvested as one shoot with two leaves.
TASTE NOTES
This tea presents a sweet-and-sour character with a deep, dark amber liquor. A balanced, highly oxidized black tea base unfolds with bright, lemon-like citrus sweetness, followed by a subtle peppery edge. The interplay of tanginess and spice evokes a distinctive tomato-soup nuance—savory yet gently sweet—carried by a high-toned citrus acidity.
The finish is soft and lingering, revealing notes of sweet dried fruits and a cotton-candy–like melt. A mild, silky mouthfeel slowly seeps across the palate before swallowing. Overall, it is a comforting yet elegant tea, defined by warm, rounded sweetness and an intriguing depth.

How to prepare
3 g 0.1 oz 0.7 US tsp
95°C 203°F
100 ml 3.4 fl oz 100 cc
30 sec.~
STEP 1) Warm your teapot. Pour boiling water into a gaiwan or teapot, let it sit for a little while, then discard all the water.
STEP 2) Fill your pot with tea leaves in a 3g/150ml ratio, pour boiling water on them, and brew for 30 seconds. (No need to rinse the leaves before the first brew.)
STEP 3) Serve. Pour the tea into a pitcher, and then into cups.
STEP 4) Brew again.
❖ For the second infusion, steep the tea for about half the time of the first infusion. Increase the steeping time slightly with each subsequent infusion.
❖ Keep the lid on the teapot between infusions. Black tea is best brewed with near-boiling water, so it's important to keep the leaves hot as well.
❖ This is our recommended brewing method, but everyone has their own preferences. Feel free to experiment and find the brewing style you enjoy most.
