Bluish-White (青白磁) teapot by Yoshimura Toen kiln from Higashi Sonogi-gun, Nagasaki prefecture.

Hasamiyaki is a type of porcelain pot produced in Hasami City using time-honored techniques brought from the Korean Peninsula 400 years ago. In contrast to pottery, porcelain has a very high baking temperature; as the surface is made of glass, there is no effect on the taste of the tea. This Hasami-yaki Kyusu is characterized by a pale blue, cool glaze mixed using a wholly original process. The flat shape makes it easy to see whether the tea is ready or not. As this kyusu is excellent for cooling water, use it to make Sencha or Gyokuro, which require only small amounts of tea at low temperatures.
Simply put 5g of tea leaves into the pot, then pour in 130ml of hot water. The leaves will absorb ¼ of the water, leaving about 100ml of delicious and fragrant tea.
