SPECIAL MATCHA FOR SPECIAL NEEDS
This tea is a special edition from Marukyu-Koyamen, Uji tea manufacturer.
Thanks to its freeze-dried producing technology Suzukumo does not need to be sifted before making tea, and even though it is suitable for hot matcha, it is more recommended to prepare cold, which makes it a perfect choice for summer.

How to prepare

STEP 1) Put 2g (0.4 US tsp, 1 teaspoon or 2 chashaku scoop) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 60-70 ml (2-2.4 fl oz) cold or once boiled but cooled down water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy.
STEP 4) Add some ice.

❖ Freshness is essential to enjoy Matcha to the fullest. It is best to consume the tea within one month of opening.
❖ Using spring water or mineral water with low natrium and calcium content is best. (High natrium and calcium content takes the pep out of tea)

This was a fun experiment to try. I was also uneasy about the consistency (exactly as pictured above), but the result was solid for both cold and hot water. But turns out, I really prefer normal warm matcha (usucha), so while we had a nice run together (the can and I), I'll be sticking to my beloved Kinrin. :)

When I first opened it, it scared me a little (the texture of the powder is very different than a normal matcha, I guess because it is made in a way it does not need sifting), but the taste was amazing! Fresh, a little flowery, perfect for a summer day. Will order again!
