Best Price

Entry-level ceremonial matcha blend from Kanbayashi Shunsho, an Uji tea producer.

Ceremonially prepared, this matcha has a very delicate, mellow matcha flavor with no astringency. It's fragrant and has a nice green color.
In lattes, the green tea flavor doesn't come out very strongly because of this very delicacy, but it provides a beautiful green color.

We recommend this tea for those who are beginners at ceremonial matcha; it is very tolerant of different water temperatures or different preparation ratios.

A great value for money.

How to prepare

HOW TO PREPARE

MATCHA:
■ 1/3 tsp / 1.5 g Matcha Powder
■ 3 fl. oz / 85 ml, 185°F / 85°C Water

STEP 1) Sift the matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour the hot water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk it well with a tea whisk until foamy.

❖ Before Step 1, warm up the tea bowl with hot water, then dry it.
❖ After the matcha is done, drink it immediately, because as it cools down it turns bitter.

■ 5 fl. oz / 150 ml Hot Milk
■ Sugar to taste

STEP 3) Pour the matcha into a mug.
STEP 4) Warm and froth the milk.
STEP 5) Gently pour the milk over the matcha in the mug.

❖ Try Matcha Latte cold!
Pour cold, frothed milk over ice and slowly pour the matcha prepared with cold water over it.

Great value! Only a small amount of astringency and a very slight amount of graininess. In my opinion, it is a little difficult to find a good balance of flavor when using it for usucha, but the matcha is marvelous in a latte--especially in the trending "cold-whisked" lattes. It would also be great when sprinkled on a cold dessert, like a green tea tiramisu or vanilla ice cream.

Matsu no Shiro Matcha is incredible — smooth, delicate, and naturally sweet with a beautiful, vibrant green color that speaks to its quality. It’s perfect for daily enjoyment or special tea moments. Shipping was impressively fast, and the customer service was top-notch: prompt, courteous, and clearly passionate about their product. Everything from the packaging to the taste shows care and craftsmanship. I’m so glad I found this matcha and will definitely be coming back for more!

The color was nice and it had a nice froth. Far from the worse I've tried but the flavor is way too subtle for my taste. It gets lost in the milk in a latte. as usucha it has more flavors, but as a latte it has a subtle almond milk like flavor (I used the same milk I use in all my lattes which is unsweetened soy milk with different matchas and usually the flavor is still strong). it might just be that I'm too used to higher grade and I see how it's an entry level matcha. I'll probably use it for tiramisu or other baking but not for latte or usucha
