The holiday season is approaching, and it's calling us together. Loved ones gather, homes sparkle, and tables overflow with treats.

Just as Christmas brings families together in many parts of the world, in Japan it’s the New Year that holds that special place: a time when families gather, often traveling back from afar, to celebrate together. Homes are decorated, everyone is joyful, and a special meal, "Osechi Ryōri", is the highlight. Each carefully prepared dish is served in layered boxes, and each item carries a meaning: health, happiness, prosperity, and good fortune for the year ahead.

This year, we chose Osechi as our theme and reimagined it as an Advent calendar. One reason for this concept is to introduce our new brand, riceye.jp ー for the art of dining, which specializes in premium artisanal kaiseki tableware — including the traditional Osechi box.

In a beautiful traditional Japanese "Osechi box", we assorted 12 exquisite teas, each one a tiny celebration, just like the individual dishes of an Osechi box. Made from traditional Japanese paper and coated with natural urushi lacquer, the box is a beautiful craftwork that can be enjoyed and used year-round. Included are 12 small golden film pouches, perfect for portioning tea or presenting the advent set as a charming accent on your Christmas dinner table.

Blending together the two traditions, each tea represent a delicious course. Four weeks, 4 course meals: a starter, a main course and a dessert.
