despite not being noted in the description, this was somehow one of the most savory matchas ive ever had while somehow not being seaweedy either. flavor had a nice sweetness and freshness too. color was beautifully vibrant and the powder was smooth and easy to whisk. even considering how the price doubled from 2024/2025, this is a matcha ill gladly repurchase.

Not bitter at all with a slight astringency. Doesn't live up to its hype of being a seasonal matcha, hence the three stars. I have tried better blends with Kanbayashi Shunsho's Usucha line. I used 3.5g matcha with 35g water (1:1 ratio), and I don't taste any hint of nuttiness. I'd recommend getting KS Koicha Matsukazemukashi instead.

I usually drink Japanese teas and I think that this tea is on the gyokuro tier of premium tea. Pretty distinctive taste and otherwise similar to Japanese green tea, less on the panfried taste. Overall pretty balanced good tea.
